What changed in my network?

People change jobs, companies raise, champions leave. Every week YouSpot names the changes among people you know that matter to you, with a reason and a note to send.

What changed in my network this week?

Three things worth knowing. Priya Natarajan is now VP of Engineering at Arbor Health. Sam Okafor's company, Beacon Labs, raised a Series A on Thursday.

Marcus Lee left Northwind, where he was your main contact. Here's a note to Priya, and the name of who replaced Marcus.

From your LinkedIn history and the web.

How it shows up

A job move is a warm door at a company you have never been inside. A raise means budget. A champion leaving means your relationship there just reset. YouSpot watches the people in your history for exactly these, and only tells you when one of them matters.

Congratulations notes are the easiest reconnect there is. It drafts them so you send them the week they land, not the month after.

How it knows

Your LinkedIn history says where the people you know work and what title they hold, as of your last import; the Chrome extension keeps that current as you browse. The web says what happened at their companies. YouSpot compares this week to last and reports only the differences that touch someone you know.

Questions

How current is it?
YouSpot keeps its own copy of the public profile of each person you're connected to and compares it with what it saw last time. Every move carries the date YouSpot noticed it, since LinkedIn doesn't say when someone moved. Profiles you save with the Chrome extension, or scroll past with auto-capture on for LinkedIn, are refreshed in YouSpot as you go.
Will it flood me?
No. Network updates runs once a week and reports moves only among people you're connected to. A new title at the same company doesn't count as a move, so it stays out.
Does it watch my competitors?
It starts from people: a company matters here because someone you know works there. Name any company and YouSpot will check its news and hiring for you too.
